How it works

Plug it in.
Pair it. Done.

The Hub ships to your door. No new cameras, no wires to run, and no installer visit. If you can plug in a router, you can set up Watchbird.

  1. Step 1

    Plug in the Hub

Connect the Watchbird Hub to your router with the included cable, then plug in power.

  2. Step 2

    Pair it with the app

Open the Watchbird app and scan the code on the sticker under the Hub. It joins your account securely, with no passwords to type.

  3. Step 3

    Tap Import

Watchbird finds your recorder and cameras on its own. Type the camera password once and every camera appears, named and ready.

Watchbird Hub

A small, silent box
that does the watching.

It sits next to your router and looks at every camera right in your home, on its own AI chip. The bird's lens eye on top stays dim while it watches, and glows when Max finds something real.

Works with what you have

Keep your cameras.
Keep your recorder.

Setup is built in for most brands. Watchbird finds them on your network, signs in and lists every camera with a picture. No recorder? It records them itself.

Privacy

Your video stays home.

Recordings stay on your recorder. Event clips stay on your Hub. Video streams, encrypted, only to your own phone.

To double-check a possible real event, a few still frames go to our AI partner. Prefer that nothing leaves? Turn on Local-only mode in the app, on any plan. Alerts then rely on the Hub alone, so you may see a few more false alarms.

Recordings stay put

They stay on your recorder, and event clips stay on your Hub. Video streams, encrypted, only to your own phone when you open it.

A few frames, to be sure

Only for a possible real event, and only a few still frames. Our AI partner doesn't train on them, and our servers don't keep them.

Zero open ports

The Hub never accepts connections from the internet. It only dials out through an encrypted tunnel.

Faces stay on the Hub

Face prints never leave your home, and familiar faces is off until you turn it on.

Everything that leaves your home, line by line
Recordings
Only to your phoneStay on your recorder. When you play them on your phone, they stream to it encrypted. Never uploaded to or stored in the cloud.
Saved event clips
Only to your phoneSaved on your Hub and deleted automatically after 14 days. They stream to your phone, encrypted, only when you play them.
Live video
To your phoneStreams from your Hub to your phone, encrypted. It goes direct whenever it can; if not, it's relayed through Watchbird's servers and never stored there.
Face prints
NeverThe face data Watchbird uses to recognize people stays on your Hub.
Still frames of events
A few, per real eventSent to our AI partner, Anthropic (Claude), to double-check what the Hub saw. These frames can show people. Under its commercial terms, Anthropic doesn't train on them and deletes them after a limited retention period. Watchbird's servers don't store them. Off in Local-only mode.
Questions, recaps, names and plates
As textWhen you ask Max a question or get a recap, your question, the event log, the names you've given people and the plate numbers seen go to the same AI as text. Off in Local-only mode.
Alert photos and text
Each alertEvery phone alert, with its picture and short description, goes through our push service to reach your phone. This stays on in Local-only mode, so you still get alerts.
Emergency backup
Only if you turn it onComing soon. During a confirmed break-in when nobody answers, a person on our team sees the live video to help get police on the way. Off unless you turn it on.
Account and email
YesUsed for sign-in, billing and alerts. Never sold.
